SNCF: You can now use France Identité when checking tickets

An experiment was conducted between January 20 and February 12, 2025, allowing a few thousand users to use the France Identité application on board the Inoui TGVs when checking tickets.

This feature is now accessible to all France Identité users who travel by booking their train ticket, and it is extended to Intercités trains. If you have the France Identité application, you can present it at the time of checking tickets on board an Inoui TGV or an Intercités train; thus, no longer do you have to show both your train ticket and an identity card.

This device may soon also to be used on board Ouigo trains.

How to activate this feature of France Identity before your first use?

Before you can use the new France Identity feature for the first time, you must enable it within your application. To do this, you must in order:

• go to your application France Identité;
• Click on the identity card on the application home page and then return it by clicking on the “rotate” button at the bottom right.
• Click on “start” on the “SNCF access” message that appeared.
• Enter the personal code you have chosen within the application.
• allow the application to read your ID card without contact, as instructed.

You should enable the feature before you use it for the first time, so that you don’t have to do this when checking your ticket.

How to use France Identité during a check on the train?

Once you have activated the feature, you can present the application on any journey you make on an Inuk High-Speed Train or an Intercity Train, provided you have booked your train ticket. When checking, you must, in order:

• open your application France Identité;
• Click on the identity card on the application home page and then return it by clicking on the “rotate” button at the bottom right.
• present the QR code to the pilot-in-command.
