Moving bonus in 2025

The relocation premium is intended for large families with at least 3 dependent children (born or to be born within 6 months of the move).

It is not means-tested.

To obtain it, the conditions are as follows:

  • have at least 3 dependent children (born or unborn);
  • the move must be scheduled between 1er day of the month following the end of your 3e month of pregnancy and the last day of the month before 2e birthday of your last child;
  • be eligible for theAPL or to theALF for your new home.

This premium is paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Agricultural Social Mutual Society (MSA); you must be a beneficiary of either.

Since 1er april 2025 (depending on the number of dependent children), the maximum amount granted is:

  • €1,138.49 for 3 dependent children (€1,070.23 in 2024);
  • €1,233.36 for 4 dependent children;
  • €94.87 per additional child (€89.19 in 2024).

These amounts are valid until March 31, 2026.

To learn more about the relocation premium, you can consult the dedicated sheet of Public Service: Moving allowance.

What are the other aids?

There are other aids if you move:

  • Solidarity Fund for Housing (FSL) which varies from one department to another. You can benefit from it if you find yourself in a difficult personal situation. Contact directly your CAC or your MSA, the social action center of the City of Paris or your City Hall if you live in another municipality. A social worker will be in charge of making a request for help.
  • Aid for the installation of State personnel (AIP) (reserved for officials, contract staff...). The amount varies from €700 to €1,500 depending on the situation. Find out more about the State social action site.
  • The Disability Compensation Benefit (DCP). This aid is intended to compensate for the loss of independence of persons with disabilities for whom the removal costs can be covered to the tune of €3 000. For more information, please visit myscourshandicap.gouv.fr.
  • Aid according to the collective agreement. If you are an employed person, care may be provided and/or a day off (or more) may also be granted for the move.
