Reception of minors in leisure centers

The leisure center welcomes children and teenagers on school days and during school holidays. Children are supervised by activity leaders. The number of activity leaders varies according to the age of the children they welcome.
The leisure center welcomes children and teenagers on extracurricular time, i.e. during school days.
The extracurricular reception is complementary to school project.. It mainly offers leisure activities for the development of children (manual activities, indoor or outdoor games, cultural activities, sports...).
The leisure center also welcomes children and teenagers on extra-curricular time. That is, on days when there is no school (school holidays or a whole day without school).

wednesday (with or without school) is extracurricular time.
The supervising staff is composed of salaried or volunteer persons aged at least 17 years.
These persons are most often holders of a certificate of competency (e.g. Bafa or BAFD or a qualification certified by their status as public official in animation.
The number of supervisors depends on the age of the children and the type of care provided.
Recreation after school
Minors are all under 6 years of age
The minimum number of persons performing animation functions shall be:
- 1 activity leader for 8 children, where the duration of the leisure reception exceeds 5 consecutive hours,
- 1 animator for 10 children, when it does not exceed 5 consecutive hours.
This number may be reduced where after-school reception is organized as part of a territorial education project, but may not be less than:
- 1 animator for 10 children, where the duration of the leisure reception exceeds 5 consecutive hours,
- 1 animator for 14 children, when it does not exceed 5 consecutive hours.
The maximum number of children or adolescents accommodated is that of the school.
When the reception takes place on several sites or when it brings together children from several schools, the number is limited to 300.
Minors are all 6 years of age or older
The minimum number of persons performing animation functions shall be:
- 1 entertainer for 12 children when the duration of the leisure reception exceeds 5 consecutive hours,
- 1 animator for 14 children when it does not exceed 5 consecutive hours.
This number may be reduced where after-school reception is organized as part of a territorial education project, but may not be less than:
- 1 entertainer for 14 children when the duration of the leisure reception exceeds 5 consecutive hours,
- 1 animator for 18 children when it does not exceed 5 consecutive hours.
The maximum number of children or adolescents accommodated is that of the school.
When the reception takes place on several sites or when it brings together children from several schools, the number is limited to 300.
Recreation of extracurricular activities
The minimum number of persons performing animation functions shall be:
- 1 animator for 8 minors under 6 years of age,
- 1 entertainer for 12 minors aged 6 or over.
The number of children is limited to 300.
The premises used shall comply with standards for establishments receiving public (ERP)..
In addition, the premises must comply with hygiene standards, including restoration material ..
Registration in a leisure center is done at the town hall by the parents, the custodians of the parental authority or the guardian.
The town hall sets the conditions of registration (place of residence, professional activity of the 2 parents ...), the conditions of reception (places, times ...).
For centers run by an association, registration is made directly with the association.
A financial contribution is required. It depends on family quotation or income.
