Hunting insurance - civil liability of the hunter

What assurance is obligatory for the hunting ? What documents present in case of control ? What to do in case of termination of your contract ? We'll show you the main rules to know concerning insurance for hunting.

You must subscribe to a insurance that guarantees your civil liability as a hunter.

This insurance covers you for personal injury, equipment and intangible that you can cause to another person. For example, when you shoot, you hurt another hunter.

This insurance must:

  • Guarantee your civil liability for an unlimited amount
  • Ne pitch foresee of forfeiture enforceable against victims or to their rights-holders
  • Cover your civil liability because of your dogs. You are indeed responsible for the damage caused by your dogs.

During a control in hunting, you must present the insurance certificate in addition to your hunting permit and the validation of hunting license.

In case of termination or suspension of your hunting insurance contract, your permit to hunt ceases to be valid and is temporarily withdrawn.

For example, if your contract is suspended for non-payment of contributions.

You must hand over the validation of your hunting license to theOFB: titleContent.

To retrieve the validation of your hunting license, you must justify be covered again by civil liability insurance for hunting.
