Mask Wearing

Published on 1 August 2022

The employer of a professional performing home interventions for seniors or persons with disabilities (e.g., SAHID professionals) may require the employer to wear a mask when performing home interventions.

That's what it says the order of 1 june 2021 amended by the order of 30 july 2022.

If you are a sick or dependent elderly person, for example, a SSIAD allows you to receive nursing and hygiene care at home.

FYI

As of June 30, 2023, ADHIDs must be able to offer, in addition to their care activity, a support activity. For this, they can merge with a home support service (SAAD). They have until 2025 to become a stand-alone service at home.

You may be eligible for a Home Care Nursing Service (HNIS) if you are:

  • You are at least 60 years old and are ill or dependent (e.g. need help with essential life activities)
  • You are under 60 years of age and have a disability
  • You are under 60 years of age and have chronic medical conditions or certain types of conditions

For these same situations, the SSIAD can also intervene to facilitate the return home after a hospitalization.

Their interventions have several objectives:

  • Preventing loss of autonomy
  • Avoiding hospitalization
  • Making it easier to return home after hospitalization
  • Delaying entry to an accommodation facility

FYI

SADIs also provide services, particularly in non-medical facilities for the elderly and adults with disabilities. They may also act jointly with an institution of home hospitalization under a partnership agreement.

Your attending doctor will take care of the prescription of the care and usually the request for support by the Social Security.

Once that request has been made, there is a 10-day delay. In the absence of a response, it shall be considered accepted.

In an emergency, care can begin before this time.

With this prescription, you can contact a home care service near you yourself to request care.

Once your application has been accepted by the service, a nurse will go to your home to decide with you the schedule of interventions.

Please note

SSDIDs are authorized to intervene in a limited number of people. It is therefore possible that you will be put on the waiting list until a place becomes available.

The treatments offered can be:

  • nursing procedures (dressing, injections, distribution of medicines, etc.) and medical surveillance,
  • personal care for toilets and hygiene.

This care can be short, medium or long term depending on your health and needs.

In addition, SSIAD can coordinate the intervention of other health professionals if necessary: physiotherapists, pedicures, doctors...

The service is provided on a continuous basis, including on Sundays and public holidays when necessary.

FYI

the SPASAD (multi-purpose home care and support services) are services that provide both the missions of a SADI and those of a home care service. They may also be involved in conjunction with an educational institutionhome hospitalization under a partnership agreement.

Care is directly provided at 100%. So you don't have to advance any costs.

However, some care, such as physical therapy, which is often paid for on a fee-for-service basis, is not included in the home nursing service plan.

The doctors' fees (and other external participants) are reimbursed under normal conditions. The same is true for medicines.
