Rainwater recovery

No, it is strictly forbidden to collect rainwater for consumption, because it is contaminated.

You should not drink it or use it to cook or wash dishes.

Rainwater has chemical contamination after runoff on the roof. It also has bacterial or parasitic contamination if stored in a tank.

If you settle a rainwater recovery system, the recovered water can be used without any restriction outside, especially to clean your car or water your garden.

Please note

you can consume the products grown in your garden if you water them with the rainwater recovered through your recovery system.

Inside your home, you can only use rainwater for the following actions:

  • Fill toilet flush
  • Wash floors
  • Wash laundry provided you use a suitable water treatment device
