Employee pension: pension insurance supplement for disabled children
Verified 24 August 2020 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
If you have raised a disabled child, you can benefit, under conditions, from an increase in your old-age insurance under the general social security scheme. The increase consists of the allocation of a certain number of additional insurance quarters. The surcharge is possible within the limit of 8 quarters.
You are entitled to an increase in your old-age insurance if you are raising or have raised a disabled child.
The increase is granted if the child has a disability rate of 80% which entitles him to:
- Education allowance for disabled children (AEEH) and its supplements
- AEEH and Disability Compensation Benefit (DCP)
You can benefit from this increase if you have contributed to the general social security scheme, regardless of the number of insurance quarters validated.
In order to be eligible for the surcharge, it is not mandatory to have been the beneficiary of the EEHA, nor to have a family relationship with the disabled child. Thus, the various persons who have assumed the child's care can benefit from the increase in the duration of insurance. The concept of child care includes education, material care, and financial support to the child.
