If you have a modest income, you can get help to lower your water, phone, electricity and/or gas bills.

Help to pay your water bills

Each municipality decides whether to introduce a social water price. It's about helping people with modest incomes pay their water bill. The form of the aid may vary according to the municipality which has introduced social charges.

Who shall I contact
Help to pay for your landline subscription

If your operator is Orange and you receive active solidarity income (SSA) or disabled adult allowance (DAA) or specific solidarity allowance (SSA), you can benefit from a reduction known as telephone social reduction on your landline subscription of your principal residence.

Help with electricity and gas bills

Every year in April, energy check is mailed to households low income to help them pay their electricity and gas bills.

The tax authorities determine the list of persons eligible for the energy check on the basis of the annual income tax return.

If you haven't received an energy check and your income is modest or your situation has changed (revenue decline, birth, etc.), you can apply for the check until December 31, 2024.

Aid from the Solidarity Fund for Housing (FSL)

The FSL provides a financial assistance to a person who has difficulty paying the costs of their accommodation.

The aid can be used to pay the debts of electricity, gas, water and telephone bills.

The FSL aid may be paid in the form of a loan (to be repaid to the FSL) or a grant (without repayment).
