The new baccalaureate that will come into effect in 2021 is an examination around 1 French test at the end of the class of first and 4 tests in senior with a share of continuous control.
The trials
The trials count for 60% of the final score: 1 early written and oral test of French at the end of the first and 4 final tests in the final class (2 written tests on the specialty disciplines chosen by the candidate, 1 written test of philosophy, 1 oral prepared in the first and final stages).

The final oral test is based on the presentation to a jury composed of 3 people of a project prepared by the student in the first class. It will last 20 minutes and will be divided into two parts:
the presentation of the project based on 1 or 2 specialty disciplines chosen by the student;
an exchange based on this project to assess the student's ability to analyze by mobilizing the knowledge acquired during his schooling, particularly scientific and historical.
Continuous monitoring
Continuous monitoring counts for 40% of the final score (of which 10% with school reports): it will be based on joint tests organized during the first and final years which will cover the subjects studied by the student. In order to ensure equality between applicants and schools,
a national digital subject bank
be set up, the anonymised copies will be corrected by teachers other than those of the student and harmonization will be ensured.
The steps
In 2019, first-graders will:
choose 2 specialty disciplines for the senior year from among the 3 followed in the year;
see the introduction of continuous monitoring;
have a written assessment of the specialty discipline not pursued at the senior level;
take part in the early written and oral test of french in june.
In 2020/2021, senior citizens:
take 2 final tests in the specialty disciplines on the return of the spring break;
have 2 final tests in June (philosophy and
the grand oral
).
The first and last year students will benefit from a common knowledge base: French in the first year, philosophy in the final year, history-geography, moral and civic education, 2 modern languages, physical and sports education and a new teaching: digital and computer sciences.

The tank is obtained from a general average of 10/20;
There is no cut-off or floor score (minimum score required);
The current system of compensation and endorsements is maintained;
The oral catch-up is maintained as a second chance.
