Credit and cancer: an expanded right to be forgotten for young people

The Aeras Convention establishes a

right to be forgotten

for some people who have had cancer. The delay is 10 years after the end of treatments for cancers occurring in adulthood, 5 years for juvenile cancers. It is no longer necessary to declare this disease when applying for insurance:

• in case of cancer diagnosed before the age of 21, provided that the therapeutic protocol has been completed for at least 5 years and that there has been no relapse.
• in the case of cancer diagnosed after the age of 21, provided that the therapeutic protocol has been completed for at least 10 years and that there has been no relapse.

In addition, the future insurance contract must:

• end before the age of 71;
• covers one consumer loan allocated to a purchase, a business loan for the acquisition of premises and/or equipment or a real estate loan.
