With a view to reopening restaurants, sports halls or concert halls, a decree of February 12, 2021 authorizes scanner codes (QR code) allowing identification of people from the AllAntiCovid app. The CNIL considers that the system complies with the rules on the protection of personal data.
The decree of 12 February 2021 changes the name of the Stopcovid app to AllAntiCovid. The app has been downloaded by 12.8 million people since its inception.
The National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL), which had received the draft decree, had delivered its opinion on 17 December 2020. This advisory was made public on February 15, 2021. In particular, the CNIL decided on the introduction of a device for recording visits to certain establishments receiving the public (restaurants, sports halls, concert halls, etc.) within the AllAntiCovid application via a QR code (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
