Like all year-ends, fake calendar sellers come to your home declaring themselves garbage collectors or firefighters. Is this normal or is it a scam? Service-Public.fr gives you tips on how to be extra careful when dealing with these hawkers.
To protect you from fake salesmen who claim to be from various organizations (Post Office, fire brigade, garbage collectors, charitable associations, town hall or urban community...) and who seek to sell calendars that have no connection with these organizations, Public-Service reminds you of some simple rules:
do not let a stranger into your home;
ask the seller for his business card;
verify that the official logo of the institution is on the calendar;
do not hesitate to alert the elderly or those isolated from your surroundings to this type of approach;
report suspicious or insistent behavior by calling 17 or 112.
Warning
The lobbyists do not have the right to ask you for a specific amount. You are free to give the amount that suits you.
