Unpaid alimony: the Collection Agency (Aripa) can help you

Aripa simplifies proceedings for recovery of unpaid maintenance payments.

To qualify for this aid, two conditions must be met:

• you must be the parent of a child under the age of 20 for whom maintenance has been fixed;
• this pension has been unpaid for at least a month.

By this means, you have no prior recourse to make with a bailiff.

Thus, provided with a judgment, an enforceable title of the FCA or the MSA, an agreement approved by the family court, a divorce agreement by mutual consent or a notarial act establishing the agreement of the parents, two solutions can be proposed to you to recover an unpaid maintenance payment:

• Family Support Allowance (FSA) if you are raising your child(ren) on your own;
• or support recovery assistance (Arpa) if you are living as a couple.

In both cases, you can download the necessary form, attach the required supporting documents and send it to your CFOE or MSA.
