Since 15 May 2019, rates for calls and SMS from the country to another European Union (EU) country have decreased. These new pricing rules apply to all 28 EU countries and will soon also apply to Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
These tariffs are now capped in the EU at:
€0.19/minute (excluding VAT) for calls;
and €0.06 (excluding VAT) via SMS.
The aim is to reduce some existing price differences for individuals in this way, as the European Commission has found that on average the standard price of a fixed or mobile call within the EU is three times higher than the standard price of a call made at national level (the standard price of an SMS within the EU is more than twice the price of a national SMS).
Reminder
Since June 2017, there are no roaming charges to be paid when traveling within the EU.
