Covidom app: Telemonitoring patients with or suspected of having Covid-19

The aim is to provide remote monitoring of patients who do not show signs of serious illness, without overburdening health facilities and general practitioners. This allows them to focus on the more severely affected patients.

Initially, the application is aimed at patients who have passed through the Hôpital de Paris (AP-HP). The device has been deployed since March 9, 2020, in the Bichat and Pitié-Salpêtrière hospitals, two AP-HP COVID-19 reference health facilities (ESR). It will be used more widely to monitor all patients who have been treated with AP-HP.

How does it work?

• During a first visit, the doctor creates the patient's profile in the platform by entering his administrative data and the useful medical data;
• The patient then answers a simple questionnaire daily online, from a computer or via the application available on the main stores. The frequency of the questionnaire varies by risk and time period;
• Depending on the questionnaire response, alerts may be generated. For example, if patients report a high fever or severe shortness of breath, the health care team is alerted and contacts the patient to adjust monitoring and management;
• In case of immediate emergency, the patient will be asked to contact the 15th.

A medical remote monitoring center is set up to follow the alerts of all patients included in Covidom.
