Encouraged since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, medical teleconsultation has been impossible for patients without a video connection via a laptop, tablet or computer. Teleconsultation by telephone is now allowed for some of these patients. This was announced in a press release from the Minister of Solidarity and Health on April 4, 2020.
If the patient's equipment does not allow video transmission, teleconsultation can be done simply by telephone to:
COVID-19 patients or those at risk of illness;
long-term patients;
persons over 70 years of age;
any person residing in a white area (i.e. an area not served by a mobile telephone network or by the internet).
This possibility is also open to remote monitoring by nurses of COVID-19 patients.
FYI
These consultations will be taken care of like other teleconsultations in the context of the health crisis. They benefit from:
an exemption from user fees: the Health Insurance takes charge 100% costs;
the withdrawal of participation (lump sum of €1) and the franchise.
