The law of 23 March 2020 urgently addressing the COVID-19 outbreak provided that the date of the second round of municipal elections must be fixed by decree taken on 27 May 2020 at the latest if the health situation allows it. The decree of 27 May 2020 fixing the date of the second round of the general renewal of municipal and community councilors, Paris councilors and Lyon metropolitan councilors, and calling voters is published in the Official Journal of 28 May.
