The restrictions in force for health reasons in places of worship are maintained. This is the meaning of the decision of the Council of State, which nevertheless recalls that places of worship (churches, mosques, synagogues...) remain open. Worshippers are also allowed to participate in funerals and weddings, under certain conditions.
Under the state of health emergency and lockdown, gatherings with a wide audience in places of worship are prohibited. The Council of State has received 21 requests from Catholic associations and clergy for the suspension of restrictions and the opening of churches to the public, in particular for masses (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
