Automatic tax filing: opening up to new homes

The automatic declaration allows certain tax households to benefit from an automatic validation of their tax returns, without action on their part, as long as the pre-filled information known to the tax authorities is fair and complete for the calculation of income tax.

Since 2020, the automatic declaration of income has been offered to tax households that were taxed the previous year only on income (wages, pensions, income from movable capital) pre-filled by the tax administration and that have not reported any change in situation (address, family situation, creation of a withholding tax account).

In 2021, this scheme is extended to taxpayers who have already reported for 2020:

• a birth;
• adoption;
• the collection of a minor child.
