The Ministry of Labor released the 2020 edition of the Equal Opportunity Index on March 8, International Women's Day. More companies are publishing their notes and taking up the issue, but inequalities at work remain high.
The index of professional equality , established in 2018 by the Avenir Professionnel law, is mandatory for companies with more than 50 employees. They must publish their results on 1er by March. Overall 2020 trends and the largest company scores show overall scores above the required minima.
This score, calculated on 100 points, includes five criteria:
the gender pay gap (40 points);
the difference in annual increases (20 points);
the gap in promotions (15 points);
increases on return from maternity leave (15 points);
the presence of women among the company's highest salaries (10 points).
