More breakfasts available in schools

Free breakfasts for schools located in priority territories were implemented as early as March 2019. Despite the lockdown caused by the health crisis, distributions resumed in 2020, taking into account health measures. This is being strengthened across the territory in 2021.

Enhanced deployment

More breakfasts will be distributed through new levers:

• In addition to the schools of priority education, breakfasts can be offered in institutions that elected officials and academic services identify as priorities.
• In the most underprivileged schools, a daily breakfast distribution will be offered to allow the regular intake of this first meal of the day.
• All classes are now involved: from nursery school to CM2 if the organization allows, otherwise kindergarten classes and those of CM1 and CM2 remain the ones that will be favored.
• The distribution can be organized in outdoor areas (courtyard, playground...).
• While respecting the health rules, parents can be involved in the organization of these breakfasts.
• In partnership with the municipality, partners can strengthen human supervision in the morning (civic services, student associations, etc) and other actors can be involved (social grocery stores, CCAS, ARS, DRAAF, etc).
