To enable travel within the European Union (EU), the European Commission has proposed the creation of a digital green certificate. This will include vaccinees but also those who test negative for COVID-19 PCR.
As Europe grapples with the third wave of the coronavirus, imposing travel restrictions, the European Commission unveiled a draft digital green certificate on March 17, 2021. This aims to facilitate travel within the EU. The scheme will also be open to four non-EU countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
Scheduled to be operational in June, it is to be adopted in the same format by all Member States, both by the European Parliament and the European Council (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
