Three years after the Nutri-Score appeared on food consumer products, the Food Observatory is taking stock of the dual purpose of this scheme: to encourage people to shift their purchases towards healthier products and to encourage manufacturers to offer better quality food.
Since the adoption of the decree of 31 October 2017, distributors and food manufacturers can comply with a new labeling including the Nutri-Score. This display shows the nutritional quality of the products by classifying them from dark green to dark orange and according to a score of A to E.
The assessment carried out by the Observatoire de l'Alimentation (Oqali) and Santé publique France examines the impact of this regulation on both industrialists and consumers (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
