The foreigner’s two million or so people have 623 elected representatives, 600 of whom are outside parliament. In addition to the 23 parliamentarians, the elected members of the Assembly of foreigners and advisers to foreigners represent their interests to the government and embassies.
The foreigner’s French community comprises some two million expatriates from around the world. This is significantly less than expatriate communities in other industrialized countries.
