Since 18 October 2021, a national awareness campaign, "Let's see people before disability", has been launched with the objective of changing the perspective on disability and combating prejudice. Three films and ten portraits feature disabled people sharing their passions, common tastes or everyday situations with everyone.
The national awareness campaign on disability is broadcast on television, in the press, by posters, in the cinema, on the Internet, in order to change the perspective of the business on persons with disabilities. It is for all generations, especially young people who have an important role to play.
This campaign builds on 3 films on everyday life situations, directed by comedian and filmmaker Yvan Attal: the canteen, the date, and the dress, illustrate a business in which the relationship to the person focuses on personality (what he is, loves or does) and not on disability.
The other aspect of the campaign is 10 portraits by photographer Sylvie Lancrenon in collaboration with people with disabilities who share the same life as everyone else. These portraits highlight their commonalities with all citizens rather than disability.
Please note
The campaign will run until January 4, 2022.
FYI
In France, 12 million people have a disability. 80% of these handicaps are invisible and 85% occur throughout life.
