Children's health: compulsory examinations

Preventive follow-up for children includes 20 mandatory medical examinations in the first 16 years. These examinations shall cover:

• Monitoring of the growth of the child by weight (development in height and weight according to standards fixed according to age and sex);
• Monitoring physical, psychoemotional, and neurodevelopmental development;
• Screening for sensory disorders;
• Vaccination practice or verification;
• Promoting health-promoting behaviors and environments.

They are carried out by the child's doctor or another doctor chosen by the parents or by persons exercising parental authority or persons or services to whom the child has been entrusted. Before the child is 6 years old, these examinations can be done by a doctor at a maternal and child protection (MCH) consultation. During 6^e In the year of the child, the compulsory examination may be carried out by a doctor of National Education.

The results are reported in the child's health record book and, if applicable, in the child's shared medical record. 3 examinations carried out during the first 3 years result in the establishment of a health certificate.
