For the first time since 2013, the number of individual conventional breaks in the private sector is falling in metropolitan France. The majority of sectors of activity are concerned, but not all categories of employees. This decline is taking place in the context of the COVID-19 health crisis.
On July 30, 2021, the Directorate of Research, Studies and Statistics (Dares) published a study on individual conventional breaks in 2020.
The number of conventional breaks has fallen for the first time since 2013, with 427,000 registrations in the private sector in metropolitan France. This represents a decrease of -3.6% compared to 2019. However, these figures are to be qualified according to the periods of 2020. While April and May are historically low months, July (the post-lockdown period) has seen a record number of registrations (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
