National facilities managed by the SNCF, reduced-fare subscriptions or financial support from the regions, departments or municipalities: specific fares are provided for young people to allow them to travel cheaper by public transport. However, each body or authority organizing public transport defines its fare policy, this is not a general obligation, nor does any text require the application of reduced fares solely on the basis of age.
