Bac 2022: calendar, test coefficients and adjustments

Following the reform of the Bac in September 2019 combining 40% continuous control and 60% terminal tests and the recent adjustments announced by the Ministry of National Education, Service-Public.fr offers you a summary of the final tests, the schedule and the coefficients to better find your way!

Bac 2022: the final tests and their coefficients

The final exams include written French (coefficient 5) and oral (coefficient 5) at the end of the first, philosophy, the two specialty exams pursued in the senior year and the grand oral. They account for 60% of the final grade of the baccalaureate.

Specialty tests

The students are evaluated on the 2 specialties preserved in the senior years. Each of the 2 tests has a coefficient 16. This represents 32% of the final score (out of the 60% of terminal control).

The great oral

The grand oral is denoted coefficient 10 in the general sector and coefficient 14 in the technological sector.

It takes 40 minutes:

  • 20 minutes to prepare the answer to your question;
  • oral 20 minutes including 5 minutes of presentation, 10 minutes of interview between the board and the candidate around the selected subject and finally, 5 minutes of discussion on the candidate's orientation project.

Philosophy test

It is denoted coefficient 8 for the general bin and 4 for the technological bin. In this written test, candidates have 4 hours to address one of the three topics proposed. They will have the choice between two essays and a text explanation whose author is on the program.

What are the dates of the tests?

Bachelor's degree in general and technology:

  • Specialty tests: May 11, 12 and 13, 2022.
  • Philosophy: June 15, 2022.
  • Grand oral: between 20 June and 1er July 2022.

Professional Baccalaureate:

  • Written and practical tests on computer media: from 23 May to 3 June.
  • Written tests of general teachings: from 14 to 24 June.

Please note

For first-graders:

  • Written test in French: June 16, 2022.
  • Oral test in French: from 20 June. The dates of the oral tests are fixed by the academies.

What are the Covid arrangements for the Bac 2022?

In view of the health situation that has had an impact on the conditions of preparation of candidates for the Baccalaureate, measures have been taken by the Ministry of National Education to organize the tests for the 2022 session.

Physical education and sport

In-training checks may be increased from 3 to 2 if the consequences of the health situation on the availability of facilities or the preparation of pupils so warrant.

Specialty tests

  • The program of tests will be the same as that set for March. This will give applicants more time to work on the initial program.
  • All topics will be arranged so that each, according to his or her specialty, can have a choice of questions or exercises.
  • The 2 days before the tests will be devoted, in the schools, to the revision of the exams, the students of the final year having only their specialty courses.
  • Exceptionally, the tests for the language level certificate are canceled for the 2022 session.
  • In the procedure for guidance in higher education, instead of the marks obtained by candidates in the written tests for specialty, the averages obtained in the special courses over the three quarters of the first class and the first two quarters of the final class will be taken into account.

Work-related facilities

The minimum duration of occupational training periods (OTPs) is reduced from 7 to 8 weeks compared to the usual duration. Minimum thresholds for major certifications are:

  • Professional Baccalaureate prepared in 3 years, 10 weeks (instead of 18 to 22 weeks depending on the specialties);
  • Professional baccalaureate prepared in 2 years, 8 weeks (instead of 18 to 22 weeks depending on the specialties);
  • CAP, prepared in 2 years or 3 years, 5 weeks (instead of 12 to 14 weeks depending on the specialties).

Anticipated oral tests of French

The number of texts to be presented orally will be reduced to 16 in general and 9 in technological.

FYI  

by way of derogation in 2022, candidates will be able to present an identity document (national identity card, passport) expired less than 5 years ago for the completion of the baccalaureate exams.

Dates of results and catch-up

The results of the general, technological and professional bachelor's degree will be announced from Tuesday 5 July.

As a reminder, the catching-up process is granted to candidates whose average is between 8 and 9.99/20 at the end of the first session of the baccalaureate.

The catch-up oral session will take place from Wednesday, July 6, to Friday, July 8, 2022.
