You have at least 3 children of which at least 1 minor (or you have raised 5 or more children and they are no longer dependent on you)? You can benefit, under conditions, the menu for large families. It makes it possible to discounts on train travel. It also makes it possible to discounts at select partner stores from the map. We explain the conditions and the approach to benefit from the card.
You have 3 children (or +)
Your family can benefit from the large families card if you have 3 dependent children (or +), of which at least 1 minor.
If you are a blended family, you can also benefit from the card for the children born in your new relationship and/or for the children that each member of your couple has if you have custody of them.
Also, you have to fill out one of the conditions of the following nationality:
- You or the other parent must be a French or European Union countries or one of the European Free Trade Association countries (i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland). In this case, one must either reside legally in France or work legally in France.
- You and/or the other parent must have a European residence permit
The card is assigned without resource condition.

The large families card allows your family to benefit from a discount on the full price of tickets SNCF: titleContent.
This reduction is calculated based on the number of minor children you have.

The large family card can be used in 1re and 2nde class, but the discount is always calculated on the standard leisure fare or 2nde class.
Your family also benefits from discounts at the business partners of the large family card listed is available online.
In addition, in Ile-de-France, your family can benefit, under certain conditions, from a discount of 50% on the network RATP: titleContentNo matter how many children you have. For more information, contact RATP.

The large families menu allows your family to enjoy 30% discount on the full price of tickets SNCF: titleContent.
The card can be used in 1re and 2nde class, but the discount is always calculated on the standard leisure fare or 2nde class.
In addition, your family also benefits from discounts at the business partners of the large family card listed is available online.
You must first test your eligibility on the home page of the map website large families by clicking Order your cards.
If your family is eligible, you can then create a personal account and order your cards.
You must scan the supporting documents for your family situation that are provided to you at the time of your card application.
You must then pay for your card order online with your credit card. The fee is €19 TTC: titleContent regardless of the number of cards requested.
As soon as your file is validated, you receive an email confirming the allocation of your large family cards.
You can immediately use your paperless cards by printing them from the website of the card large families by going to the My Account and My Cards.
You also receive your large family cards in paper version at your home in a maximum 3 weeks.
The large families card is valid 3 years.
At the end of this period, you can apply for renewal as long as your family still has at least 1 minor child.
Warning
You must also apply for renewal if one of your children reaches the age of 18 before the end of the 3 years. The card ceases to be valid for your entire family because it changes the discount rate you are entitled to.
You will receive an email informing you that your cards are about to expire. This e-mail explains how to renew your cards.
You'll have to pay again €19 TTC: titleContent for the renewal of your large family cards.
The menu for large families is personal and non-assignable. This means that every member of your household, including your minor children, must have their card to take advantage of the discounts.
For example, you could be fined on board the train if you travel with the large families fare without having your card.
You must report the loss or theft of one or more of your large family cards by notifying the contact center by telephone or e-mail.
Contact information is available in the menu Contact once you are logged into your account on the large families card site.
You'll have to pay again €19 TTC: titleContent to replace one or more of your cards.
You raised 5 children (or more)
As a parent who has raised 5 children (or more) during your life, you can benefit from the large families card.
Your children must be major at the time of card application.
They must no longer be at your expense.
Also, you have to fill out one of the conditions of the following nationality:
- You or the other parent must be a French or European Union countries or one of the European Free Trade Association countries (i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland). In this case, one must either reside legally in France or work legally in France.
- You and/or the other parent must have a European residence permit
