If your residence permit is stolen EU/EEA/Switzerland citizen or family member of a Union/EEA/Swiss citizen, you can (or must) take steps. If you are EuropeanHowever, these steps are optional. If you are a family member non-EuropeanHowever, these steps are mandatory. In any case, you are advised to make a flight declaration.

You must file your theft report with the local police authorities and the nearest consulate.

A receipt is given to you.

You can go to the prefecture or sub-prefecture of your home to request a duplicate of your residence card.

Documents to be supplied:

  • Flight report receipt
  • Valid passport
  • Photocopy of your stolen card
  • Indication concerning your domicile (provided by any means)
  • 3 identity photos

  • Proof of payment of the fee (requested at the time of the delivery of your card)
