Verified 26 September 2022 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

What is it? M'T dents ? These are oral prevention tests that aim to promote regular monitoring among young people, to improve their oral hygiene and their eating habits. Thus, the Health Insurance offers, every 3 years, an appointment and, if necessary, care at the dentist for children aged 3 years and for young people up to the age of 24 years.

All children and adolescents should submit obligatory a free preventive oral examination at age 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15.

Young adults receive a free oral prevention exam at the ages of 18, 21 and 24.

These examinations are open to children and adolescents attached to the Health Insurance, regardless of their nationality.

FYI

The funds of certain health insurance schemes may offer identical examinations to other audiences (seniors...).

In addition, an oral prevention program has been set up for women during pregnancy.
