How is the day of solidarity being carried out in the civil service?

The day of solidarity, intended to finance measures to promote the independence of the elderly or disabled, shall apply in the three public services. It takes the form of an additional day of unpaid work. It can be done in different ways in different jurisdictions. Its duration shall be reduced for staff working part-time, non-full-time or incomplete according to their working hours.

State Civil Service (FPE)

General case

The day of solidarity finance measures to promote the independence of the elderly and disabled. It shall apply to officials and contractors.

It takes the form of an additional day of unpaid work.

This day shall be fixed by ministerial decree, after obtaining the opinion of the relevant ministerial social administrative committee.

The day of solidarity can be achieved in one of the following ways:

  • Work on a previously nonworking holiday other than 1er May (e.g. Pentecost Monday)
  • Deleting a day of RTT
  • Any other organization that allows the work of 7 hours previously unworked, unless a day of annual leave is deleted.

For staff working part-time, non-full-time or incomplete, the seven hours of that day shall be reduced in proportion to their working hours.

Alsace-Moselle
