The location of the application does not depend on your home. You can go to any town hall, provided that it is equipped with a recording station.

Pre-application for a 1st passport application

The documents have to be submitted originals.

  • Your identity card
  • Photo ID less than 6 months old and conforms to standards
  • Proof of domicile
  • If you have made the pre-application, number and/or QR code obtained (if you have not made a pre-application, you will have to fill in and sign the cardboard form that will be given to you at the counter)

to use a username that is not already on an identity document, other documents must be provided depending on the nature of the second name: name of the spouse or other parent's name.

The passport costs €86 (in tax stamp).

You must go to the place you have chosen with the supporting documents.

The passport is not made on site. It cannot therefore be issued immediately.

Manufacturing lead times depend on the location and time period of the application. For example, when summer holidays approach, the delays may be longer.

Track your passport application

The passport issued is a passport biometric.

It should be removed within 3 months. After this period, the passport is destroyed.

You must remove it personally at the place of filing and sign it on the spot.

The passport is valid 10 years.
