Loss of residence card by European or family member

You have lost your residence card EU/EEA/Switzerland citizen or family member of a Union/EEA/Swiss citizen ?
You can or must take steps to obtain a duplicate.
If you are EuropeanHowever, these steps are optional. If you are a non-European family member, these steps are mandatory. We'll explain the procedure.
European/Switzerland
No, the request for a duplicate is not mandatory.
You must provide the following:
- Declaration on the honor of loss of your card
- Your valid identity document or passport
- 1 photocopy of your lost card
- Indication concerning your domicile (provided by any means)
- 3 identity photos
- Proof of payment of the fee (requested at the time of card delivery)
You can go to the prefecture or sub-prefecture of your home to request a duplicate of your residence card.

Non-European family member
Yes, duplicate request is required.
Reminder
if you are a non-European adult and a family member of a European, you must have a residence card.
You must provide the following:
- Declaration on the honor of loss of your card
- Your valid passport
- Extract of marriage certificate or certificate of non-dissolution of the partnership or certificate of cohabitation, depending on your situation at the time of application (marriage, partnership or cohabitation)
- 1 photocopy of your lost card
- Indication concerning your domicile (provided by any means)
- 3 identity photos
- Proof of payment of the fee (requested at the time of card delivery)
You must go to the prefecture or sub-prefecture of your residence to request a duplicate of your residence permit.
