Officialized in 1977 by the United Nations, International Women's Day covers a number of events around the world with the goal of celebrating advances in women's rights. What were the different stages of the March 8 implementation around the world? What is the theme this year?

March 8 is a day of action, awareness and mobilization dedicated to the fight for women's rights, equality and justice. Several events and initiatives are taking place around the world on this occasion, including:

  • reflect, exchange, mobilize for equality between women and men;
  • take stock of what has been done and what remains to be done on the issue of women in business.

It is also an opportunity to highlight initiatives that place women at the heart of creation and their participation in social, political and economic life. (read more about Vie-publique.fr).
