Giving rest days to a colleague facing the death of a child in the public service

Donation may be made to an officer affected by the death:

• a child under 25 years of age;
• a person under 25 years of age who is the effective and permanent dependants of the staff member.

A staff member wishing to receive a donation of rest days must submit his request in writing to his administration.

The application shall be accompanied by the following documents:

• a death certificate:
• and, if it is not his child, a declaration of honor attesting to the care of the deceased person under 25 years of age.

The duration of the leave shall be 90 days maximum. At his request, such leave may be divided over a period of one year.

The response to the request must be given within 15 working days.

The donation is made as a whole day, regardless of the working hours of the staff member who receives it.
