Cinema, audiovisual, video and video game: a contrasting year 2021

Curfew Closure of cinemas (138 days in 2021 compared to 162 days in 2020), gage, given, sanitary pass: the crisis linked to the Covid-19 epidemic has weighed heavily on attendance of cinemas that are struggling to regain a pre-crisis level. However, other audiovisual and multimedia industries are doing better.

In 2021, 10 French films recorded more than 1 million admissions. The first French film is Kaamelott Volet 1 with 2.66 million admissions in front of Bac Nord and Les Tuche 4. At the same time, 13 American films made more than one million admissions, with Spider-Man: no way home (4.58 million admissions) in first place.
