Guardianship: simplified procedures for guardians on the CAF website

Publié le null - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

You are the guardian of a protected adult? The National Fund for Family Allowances (Cnaf) offers a new service to simplify the procedures of guardians who assist an adult who is the subject of a protection measure. You can now open a “Guardian Account” on the Caf website to directly complete certain steps concerning the person under guardianship. Service-Public.fr explains this novelty of the Caf website.

The FCA simplifies the procedures for guardians (natural persons only) who assist a protected adult. From now on, the tutor can take certain steps directly online on caf.fr by opening a “Tutor account”. An information release on this new service was published on February 6, 2023 by the Caisse nationale d’allocations famille (Cnaf).

Previously, the file was tracked only through the account of the beneficiary under guardianship and applications for the beneficiary were made only through paper forms.

Now, tutors can take certain steps directly online at caf.fr.

How can I take advantage of this new service?

To manage the person under your guardianship and take certain steps for him or her, you must open a “Guardian Account”. Here's how.

To create your account, fill in your marital status and contact details, then enter the verification code received by SMS or email and choose your password.

If you are a beneficiary but not yet known as a guardian by the FCA, you must send the proof of the protection measure directly via the “Guardian” area. You can log in with your social security number and the same password you use to access your personal file. The service will be accessible as soon as you register.

If you are a guardian but do not yet have an account, you must create an account in the “Guardian” area of the website caf.fr. Your account will then be automatically linked to the account of the person under guardianship. If your protégé is not present in your space, use the "Find your protégé" feature to extend your search to other CFOS or forward your protection measure to the CFOS of your place of residence.

From your dedicated tutor space, you can:

  • Access the file of protected persons under your supervision;
  • Perform certain steps such as quarterly resource declarations;
  • Report a change in family status directly online.
