How do I manage a budget? What is a credit? What does it mean to save? With the increasing complexity of the economy and the financial sector, everyone needs information to understand these concepts.

Since 2016, France has adopted a national strategy for economic, fiscal and financial education, along with 70 other countries. The Banque de France is the national operator responsible for its implementation.

What is Educfi?

Education, economic, fiscal and financial education, focuses on the following concepts:

  • managing a budget;
  • learning banking and insurance tools (account, credit, savings, insurance...);
  • understanding economic concepts.

The Educated Passport

This is an educational device for all students of 4e, to pupils of SEGPA (adapted general and vocational education section) and to pupils of 3e pre-trades. Since 2023, he has also been working with high school students.

The objective of this training is to introduce future citizens to the management of their personal finances:

  • managing money and debt overhangs;
  • know how to plan expenses and save;
  • know how to protect yourself from financial scams or deceptive marketing practices.

The Educational Passport can be issued during Financial Education Week, or at any time of the year depending on school calendars.

All teachers or members of school life can be involved in the system, sometimes in collaboration with the head of school or the manager. This does not require specific professional skills, but rather support resources and a self-study program are made available to educational teams.

Please note

the Ministry of National Education specifies that any action related to the strategy of economic, fiscal and financial education must respect the principles of neutrality, reliability, accessibility and free of charge.
