Can I vote without my electoral map?

Did not receive your electoral card? You misplaced her? The voter card proves that you are registered on the electoral list of the municipality where you will vote. To cast your ballot, you will need to prove who you are. Service-Public.fr explains.

The voter card provides proof of voter registration. It contains information such as the address and number of your polling station, as well as your national voter number, which is required to establish a power of attorney. You can also find this information online.

Your electoral card will be mailed to you no later than 3 days before the election. If you have not received it, you can pick it up at the polling station on presentation of an ID.

On the day of the vote, it is recommended to show up with your electoral card but it is optional. If you don't have it, you can still vote provided you have proof of identity.

Warning

Your ID must be valid (with the exception of the national identity card and passport which are also accepted if they have expired less than 5 years ago).

You must present the original of the ID. Photography or photocopying of the identity document is not permitted.

FYI

It is possible to vote by presenting only your electoral map in municipalities with less than 1,000 inhabitants. However, you must be able to prove your identity if the president of the polling station asks you to do so.

If your electoral card is stolen, you must report it to the police or gendarmerie. You can obtain a registration certificate online or by going to the town hall of the municipality where you are registered.
