3-day leave for birth or adoption in the public service

Have you just had a child or are you entrusted with a child for adoption? You can take a leave of 3 working days.
Birth
You can take birth leave on the occasion of the birth of your child.
You can also take this leave if you live with the mother of the child.
You can benefit from this leave whether you are a public servant or a contract worker.
Birth leave is automatically granted if you request it from your administration.
Your request must include the dates of leave.
Your application must be accompanied by one of the following documents:
- Copy of the certificate issued by the doctor or midwife following the pregnancy of the mother attesting to the state of pregnancy and specifying the presumed date of delivery or any document justifying the birth of the child
- Any document proving the birth of the child.
If you are not the father of the child, you must also attach to your application any document justifying that you live with the mother.
The duration of leave shall be 3 working days.
Multiple births (twins, triplets, etc.) do not extend the duration of the leave.
You must take this leave on a continuous basis from the day of the birth of the child or from 1er next working day.
The 3-day leave may be cumulated with the paternity and childcare leave.
You receive your remuneration in full.
Adoption
You may be granted leave if a child is entrusted to you for adoption.
You can benefit from this leave whether you are a public servant or a contract worker.
Leave for the arrival of a child placed for adoption is automatically granted if you request it from your administration.
Your application must include vacation dates.
It must be accompanied by any document proving that a child has been entrusted to you by theAse: titleContent, the French Adoption Agency or any other French body authorized for adoption (OAA) and the date of his arrival.
The duration of leave shall be 3 working days.
Taking in several children for adoption does not extend the duration of the leave.
The 3-day leave may be combined with the adoption leave.
The leave shall be taken continuously or in installments within 15 days of the arrival of the adopted child.
