Do you have to provide a medical certificate to the school if your child is sick?

You need to provide a medical certificate only if your child has a contagious disease.

These diseases include:

  • Pertussis
  • Diphtheria
  • Meningococcal meningitis
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Measles, mumps, rubella
  • Group A haemolytic streptococcal infections
  • Typhoid and paratyphoid fevers
  • HIV or hepatitis B virus infection
  • Tinea
  • Respiratory tuberculosis
  • Pediculosis
  • Amebic or bacillary dysentery
  • Scabies
  • Epidemic influenza syndrome
  • Hepatitis A
  • Impetigo (and other pyoderma)

In these cases, you must provide the medical certificate to the school as soon as your child returns to class.
