Insurance and liability of an association
An association is exposed to various risks vis-à-vis its members and volunteers and third parties. It must therefore take out certain forms of insurance, whether compulsory or optional. An association is criminally liable for offenses (acts prohibited by law) committed on its behalf, by its organs or representatives. An association whose object is the defense of collective interests of general application may form a civil party, under certain conditions.
