Enhancement of the pensions of spouses and agricultural family workers

Since January 2022, the minimum basic pension for farm collaborating spouses and caregivers has been aligned with that for farm managers. The enhanced pension amount is paid as of February 9, 2022.

As of 9 February 2022, the date of payment of retirement pensions for the month of January by the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA), assisting spouses of agricultural holdings and family workers (brothers, sisters and children) will benefit from an enhanced retirement pension.

More than 200,000 pensioners are affected by this increase in their retirement pensions. Women are the main beneficiaries: they will see their pensions increase by an average of €70 per month; 30% of them will benefit from a pension increase of more than €100 per month.

This increase stems from the Law of 17 December 2021 on the increase of the lowest agricultural retirement pensions published in the Official Journal of 18 December 2021.

Reminder

The lowest agricultural pensions have been increased from 75% to 85% of the net agricultural Smic, or €1,046 per month since the 1ster November 2021.
