The decree of 8 September 2023 specifies the lump sum of the rsolidarity income (or RSO) in Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion and in the communities of Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, following its annual upgrading: it is increased to €572.40 (compared to €542.05 previously).

The revaluation shall apply from the allocations due for the month of April 2023.

What is the solidarity income?

This is a pre-retirement allowance that was introduced in 2001 for people aged 55 to 65.

The conditions for collecting it are as follows:

  • have benefited from the active solidarity income (SSA) continuously for at least 2 years;
  • live in the following overseas territory or collectivity: Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Reunion, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon;
  • be at least 55 years of age and less than 65 years of age;
  • no longer pursuing a professional activity or a paid traineeship;
  • not be in receipt of at least one of these other aids: the disabled adult allowance (AAH), the allowance for older employed or self-employed persons, the special allowance, the supplementary allowance from the old age or invalidity solidarity fund, the allowance for mothers, the invalidity pension of 2e and 3e categories, the full-rate retirement pension.

The amount of solidarity income

It varies with resources and circumstances and can only be paid once per family.

Household income divided by 12 shall not exceed:

  • €1,002.40 if you live alone;
  • €1,575.20 if you live as a couple.

If your resources exceed the ceiling, the solidarity income is the difference between the ceiling and the monthly amount of your resources. The maximum amount that can be allocated is €572.40.

If you are eligible for the solidarity income, simply apply to your Family Allowance Fund.

Reminder

you can receive solidarity income until retirement if you are between 55 and 65 years old. Payment of the allowance terminates your entitlement to the RSA.
