It's a common misconception!

If you're a recent graduate, you can sign up for Pôle emploi.

Registration can be done online, in minutes. It is followed by an interview with a Pôle emploi advisor to discuss your needs.

This registration can be very useful. We'll explain why.

First, once registered, you can access the many job offers posted on the Pôle emploi website.

Then, when you have completed your CV online in your personal space on the site, your profile is visible to recruiters. They can contact you directly to offer you a job.

Another benefit of your registration is that you can get some financial assistance.

For example, mobility aid: it covers your travel, meal and accommodation expenses if you go to a job interview, if you have training far from your place of residence or if you participate in a competition.

You can also benefit, under certain conditions, from total or partial coverage by Pôle emploi of the costs of learning to drive a driver's license, category B.

But be careful, the aid is allocated within the limits of the available budget envelopes which vary according to the regions.

Finally, here too, you can qualify for an unemployment benefit if you have already completed student jobs or paid internships. You must have completed a minimum number of hours of work prior to registering in Pôle emploi. Your advisor will let you know if you are eligible.

In any case, once registered, remember to declare your situation every month, with Pôle emploi, indicating if you are still looking for a job.
