Do you benefit from the large family menu? You can now order or renew your cards in just a few clicks. The large families card is dematerialized and a new dedicated portal simplifies your steps. Instructions for use with Service-Public.fr.
You have at least 3 children, at least one of whom is a minor? You have at least 5 grown children? You are then eligible for the large families card.
Created in 1921, the Large Family Card offers discounts of up to 75% on train travel, with no means test. The reductions were extended to many other services and products such as access to public transport, leisure, sports, but also to purchases in certain partner brands.
Reminder
You can take advantage of the large family card whether you are married, a former family, a single parent or a mixed family.
The card is intended for families with a minimum of 3 children, including at least one child under 18 years of age, or for parents with 5 or more adult children.
Conditions for receiving it
To benefit from the large families card, you must:
have at least 3 children, at least one of whom is a minor (total or alternating custody in the event of separation);
have had or raised at least 5 children.
In the case of a blended family, the children taken into account are:
the children of each member of the couple on condition that he has custody of them (and on condition that he can produce evidence of a judgment, for example a divorce judgment determining the residence of the children in their home);

As soon as the file is validated, you will be able to retrieve your dematerialized card on your account. The physical card will be sent to you a few days later. The menu is personal. Each member of the household has his own card.
Card cost and validity
The application fee is €18 regardless of the number of cards ordered. They are due for each order, whether it is a first request, a replacement for loss or theft or a renewal in case of expiration.
For a family with 3 children, the validity period of the cards is 3 years.
In the case of a family that has raised at least 5 children (adults at the date of the order), the card is valid 6 years.
FYI
If one of the children reaches 18 years of age before the expiry of his card, his birthday date records the end of validity of all the cards. The family must then order new cards for the parents and the other 2 children. Once he reaches the age of majority, the adult child can no longer have a large family card.
Discounts and benefits
The large families menu offers discounts on SNCF train tickets. It can be used in 1re and 2nde class, but the discount is always calculated on the standard leisure fare or standard fare of 2nde class.

In the Paris region, under certain conditions, the large families card can allow you to benefit from a 50% discount on SNCF and RATP tickets (for conditions, ask the carriers).
Discounts for a family with 3 children of which at least 1 or 2 are under 18
Reduction rate of 30% on the full price of the SNCF network. You lose the discount on the Île-de-France network.
Discounts for a family with at least 5 children (who are adults)
Reduction rate of 30% on the full price of the SNCF network and 50% on the full price of the Île-de-France network.
