Publié le null - Legal and Administrative Information Directorate (Prime Minister)

As of 1er May 2023, the minimum salary index for public officials in the three public services (State, hospital and territorial) is raised to the level of the Smic. This increase prevents the salaries of some staff from falling below the minimum wage level. A decree issued in Official Journal of 27 April 2023 increases the minimum salary in the civil service to €1 750.86 gross monthly, corresponding to the index plus 361.

The minimum salary in the civil service is increased to €1,750.86 gross monthly corresponding to the index plus 361 to take account of the increase in the minimum growth wage (Smic) from 2.22% to 1er May 2023.

What are the changes?

According to government data, this increase in the minimum salary will affect more than 1.1 million employees in the three public services.
