European elections dates

The European elections will be held between 8 and 9 June 2024, depending on where you live. At the end of these elections, 81 members of parliament will be elected in France. Service-Public.fr informs you.

European elections allow citizens registered to vote to elect a Member by direct universal suffrage. The election of MEPs will take place in one round.

The date of the European elections differs depending on where you live:

  • the saturday, june 8 2024 in French Polynesia, Guyana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon;
  • the sunday, june 9 2024 for Metropolitan France, Reunion, Mayotte, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna.

Please note

european elections in french consular posts on the Americas and the Caribbean will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024. They will take place on June 9, 2024 in the rest of the world.

Deadlines for registration on the electoral lists

To vote, you must be at least 18 years old the day before polling day, and be registered to vote. You can check if you are registered to vote by visiting: questioning your electoral situation.

To register to vote, the deadline is set:

  • to 1er may 2024 included for online registrations (on consular lists, online registration open until 3 May inclusive);
  • as of 3 may 2024 included for registrations by mail in town hall and on consular lists.

Please note

in New Caledonia, the deadline for voter registration is 1er March 2024.
